Dr. Jordan Stricklen, Psy.D.
Jordan's broad approach to therapy consists of working on two separate but related levels. The first level is what is getting in the way of life now and what he and the client can do to relieve that suffering together. The second level includes the deeper issues and patterns from a person’s history that are influencing current and long standing concerns. His approach aims to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, empathic environment where individuals can feel known and cared for in all aspects of their identities.
Jordan specializes in treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, difficulty adjusting to life stressors, and the effects of having experienced trauma. Jordan also has additional training and speciality in treating binge eating disorder, patients with extreme obesity, and psychotherapy with both pre-and post-op bariatric surgery patients.
Jordan graduated from Grand Valley State University with honors in 2012. He completed his Master’s and Doctorate degrees at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon and did his pre and post-doctoral work at Pine Rest in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jordan has received ample experience in psychotherapy and psychological testing in community mental health centers, college counseling centers, emergency rooms, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient therapy clinics.
In his personal life, Jordan enjoys goofing around with his wife and two boys, playing guitar, spending time outside, reading, listening to comedy podcasts, and traveling.
